Researchers from Kew Gardens and Stockholm University published a paper in Nature Ecology and Evolution showing the rapid decline that the plant kingdom has undergone in the last 250 years - 2.3 seed-forming plant species have been lost, on average, per year since the beginning of the industrial revolution.
