My research focuses on plants and environmental change. I investigate the impacts of fire, climate, and land-use on plant populations and ecological processes. This means studying species across their life cycle, from seeds to mature plants, and learning about the fascinating relationships between plants and the web of animals, people, and landscapes that they're part of. I am currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Ecological Applications and Forestry Research, in Barcelona, Spain. There, I work in the European project wildE, where I research the restoration of ecological processes to protect biodiversity now and into the future.
As a visitor to the Salgo Team, I am working on developing fire regime thresholds for European ecosystems. This involves quantifying the kinds of fire patterns that different ecosystems can tolerate while maintaining key ecological characteristics, function, and vitality.
