Supervisors: Prof. Rita Portela & Prof Rob Salguero-Gómez

Guilherme Gama is an environmental scientist and PhD candidate focusing on the population ecology and conservation of threatened tropical species. His research investigates how mining activities affect the demography, resilience, and viability of a super-endemic species in the Brazilian Amazon. Guilherme is passionate about applied conservation science, and his main focus within the SalGo team is to develop demographic analyses and population models to better understand species' responses to environmental and anthropogenic pressures and to support actionable strategies for their protection.
