I am an MBiol student investigating the key drivers of liana canopy abundance in tropical forests. My research integrates high-resolution terrestrial lidar, drone imagery, and field data from Barro Colorado Island to assess how stem density, host tree size, topography, and neighbourhood interactions shape liana canopy cover. By developing automated drone-based mapping methods, I aim to improve monitoring of liana abundance in the context of climate change and human-driven disturbances, providing ecological data to support conservation management decisions.
