I am a fourth-year MBiol Biology student at Christ Church, University of Oxford. I am interested in how population and community modelling can reveal the underlying dynamics of drastic ecological changes, such as regime shifts. I am particularly interested in urban ecosystems, both as a model for ecosystems under intense anthropogenic pressure for ecological research and as a starting point for challenging the conceptual split between ‘pristine’ and ruderal/brownfield ecosystems that justify unsustainable practices in areas occupied by humans. I am currently developing my Master’s research project investigating the resilience of populations and communities using modelling approaches.
